Richard Avedon

For this set of photos, I was tasked with taking photos that followed the style of popular photographer Richard Avedon. These styles include a square photo and the photo being square. However, the main part of his photography is the amount of emotion that is conveyed without using the rest of your face. For example, a smile can convey emotion quite easily but it is harder trying to keep your face blank and still be able to make the emotions clear.

  1. You did a really great job on this task and I really like the one photo of Declan that doesn't have too many dark colors giving it a lighter and happier feel. I like the addition of the hood to almost give it a more serious and mug shot feel

Spring Project #2

For my second week, I switched over from shooting little figures to capturing Pac Heights architecture. To get the pictures I shot up the wall and tried to capture the sharp angles and contrasts of the glassy buildings. I like the way that the glass reflects and creates the bright reflections which contrast with the darker backgrounds.

Winter 4

Winter 4 For this batch of photos, I hoped to create a sort of simpler vibe with not a lot going on with there being a ton of things going on. I prefer a simple photo with nothing too flashy going on and one main point that the eye naturally gravitates to. I, however, do like the vibrant colors of the last photos so I included them.

Portfolio

Portfolio The images I chose for my portfolio I feel demonstrate the direction in which I took the project. I hoped to take photos that were pleasing to the eye and at the same time captured David Gillivers little people. I was hoping that you got a vibe of the person is either resting from doing a task or they are doing the task.In the ones were they appear stagnant perhaps there is meant to be a subtle energy where they are supposed to be doing what they are doing. They are supposed to be resting and that something was happening before they were there and something will happen afterwards.
