Triangular composition is a way of organizing a picture in ways that the frame is divided into a triangle. A famous example of this is the Mona Lisa the picture is arranged in a way that the head and shoulders appear to be triangular. In these photos, you should look for elements that hint at being triangular.
The one-thirds composition is when the picture is arranged with the focus being on one-third of the frame while the other two frames are blank or not the main focus. When viewing these images look for the two vacant frames.
diagonal composition is when one line or two crosses the frame separating it into two or more sides. This results in the frame tending toward more diagonal and if you squint your eyes the photo appears to move or slide diagonally.
I like the abstractness of some of your photos. Also, I like how you were able to make some of the images look like they were taken at certain times of the day.
ReplyDeleteI like the light and the color of a lot of the pictures and how they are well taken and editied.
ReplyDeleteHi Pablo! Initial thoughts- though not mentioned in your artist's statement, theres a red-orange recurring motif in your photo set that I really enjoy. Makes the set very cohesive and intersting. I'm wondering why you made that bold (and successful) artistic choice. Your photos show that you clearly undertand these aspects of composition and are able to put them in practice. Great work!
ReplyDeleteNice work Pablo. I enjoyed your diagonal photos and I also liked the reoccurring theme of orange and red colors in your images. I think your best rule of thirds pieces were the ones where the subject was in front of a plain background, allowing the subject to "pop". Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in all of these, especially the diagonal series. I think the best shot is the red sky and the black phone wires and pole. Keep doing these silhouetted shots, this shot was very simple and clean and demonstrates the concept of diagonals extremely well because of the lack of the visual distractions.
ReplyDeleteI really like the editing you used on the photographs. It makes the color stand out and the imagery more clear.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the vivid colors for your diagonal section. It makes them seem to stand out more. Also, the editing you did on these look amazing, nice job.
ReplyDeleteI like how you gave the colours a new pop in the editing, it gives the photos a new eye catching detail.
ReplyDeleteThe colors on these photos stand out very well. Most of the photos have either a warm or cool feel, which really makes them look nice. The framing is very well done, and I like how you did not capture the whole object, but just a shape within the object.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you took a bland color like grey and then made a very flamboyant color like red pop out and be the main focus in the picture
